Wildlands Network Station Assault And Hack - Under Two Minutes!

Image
Tactics For A High Speed Building Assault   A two man team takes down a network station and successfully hacks the network under two minutes total. The actual assault was about half that. The team used an explosive, simultaneous, two floor entry tactic to stun and split the defender's forces. C4 was positioned at a ground and second floor doors to the building. The C4 blew open both doors at the same time. Part of the ground floor was open all the way to the second floor's ceiling. So the ground floor assaulter threw in a flash-bang grenade while his partner sprinted up the outside stairs to the second floor entry. This should blind at least some of the enemy forces on both the ground and second floors, pinning them in place. Defenders on the first and second floors were then subdued by applied violence of action, flash-bangs and firepower. The firepower came in the form of two full auto shotguns - El Silencio and the SASG-12. Both assaulters entered the building at nea...

Wildlands: Death Squad Sniper's Nest

Image
Wildlands: Death Squad Sniper's Nest My goal with most of these game videos is to produce something that is reminiscent of a TV adventure show instead of just another game video. Or if it is a video series something like the old Saturday serials at the movie theater. This particular video fits that idea very well. The Ghost Recon team gets on the trail of a Unidad Spec Ops group called "Los Extranjeros" who have formed a death squad preying on civilians. In reality, Los Extranjeros, is a group of thugs who are using their military might to take over the drug trade after the fall of the Santa Blanca cartel from power. Follow the story as the Ghost Recon team comes upon the tragic result of Los Extranjeros depredation on a Bolivian village. The trail develops from there leading the Ghost Recon team to the death squad's hide out. The Ghost Recon team then inserts by parachute landing in a literal sniper's nest. The team finds themselves outnumbered 5 to 1 on t...

The Yeti - Bagging The Yeti On Your First Try - I was either on advanced or extreme, not sure which. I think it was extreme though. There was a big build up about the Yeti. Like it as going to be an, forgive me, "extreme" challenge. One reason I suppose - the Yeti will one-shot-kill you. I think though if you know and use the tactics needed. Outfit with gear that will reach out and touch him. And you have characterized your sniper rifle and scope combo so you know where the scope's hash marks will hit at what range, then you should be fine. The hardest part is finding the guy. He isn't a yeti, but the Santa Blanca top sniper. I looked and looked and admit I had to watch some videos to find out where he was eventually. The reason I couldn't locate him was that I was searching for a sniper from a helicopter. Well, the Yeti doesn't spawn until you find a very particular boulder and interact with it. Kinda spoils the whole search for the Yeti thing doesn...

Sniping Helo's Just Shy Of A Klick! (Video)   -HTI Anti-Material Rifle & G28 Scope- Sniping helo's, chopper to chopper dog fights, exploding cars - just a normal day in the Wildlands. The video, "Hard On Helo's - Wildlands" will take you through a typical 24 hour day for the Wildlands. I was doing free play that 'game day'. Basically looking for trouble and finding plenty. A couple of good chopper dogfights with both guns and rockets. Then I take up station in Koani on top of the large natural stone bridge. It turns out to be a great place to snipe for for both autos and helo's. Two helicopters are sniped at extreme range, some at medium range. The two extreme range helo's were at 990 and 950 meters as best as I can tell. Much of the shooting is more by feel than science. The scope was only ranged, at the time, to 800m. Then after shooting the video I went back and doped it out to a kilometer. Needed help with that as I couldn't see ...

Sniping In Games - Lessons Learned

A couple of terms that need a clear definition in relation to shooting are accuracy and precision. Precision, as relates to firearms, means: the bullet will strike a certain point consistently at a fixed range and fixed elevation. A more intuitive definition might be the shot grouping is as small as possible and located in the same place. The smaller the shot grouping the better the precision. Accuracy, as relates to firearm is how well the firearm hits the aim point. In other words, the gun hits where it is aimed. So, for good shooting we need both accuracy and precision. Bullet drop is probably one of the most controversy generating topics in military games among gamers. This rifle is flatter shooting than another rifle and so on. The arguments go on endlessly. In the end it is fairly unimportant. What is important are a few things. One, that the bullet strike point, at any given range, is consistent. In other words the bullet drop for a particular firearm and cartridge comb...

Comparison of the AUG & M416 in BC2

Image
Comparing the two best assault rifles in BC2. The AUG has slightly better damage than the M416. The M416 has significantly better accuracy. Rate of fire is essentially the same between them. I think which you like better is probably going to depend on the recoil speed and user preference. I like a rifle that recovers from recoil quickly, but that is usually at the cost of a quick muzzle rise. Some people like a slower rise but I find I get killed waiting on the muzzle to come down on such guns. The M60 being a good example. Really comes down to preference.

Comparison of All BC2 Shotguns

Image
In our BC2 comparison, we have both pump and semi-auto designs to consider. Lets take a look at the semi-auto shotguns first. Keep in mind the Remington 870 “Wingmaster” is used as the yardstick for the purposes of this article. The big difference between our yardstick and the semi-autos is the damage rating. The semi-auto’s are down rated far enough to make them a two shot gun - per game kill. Since the rate of fire is fast enough it is not a problem. However, every time you shoot, to be effective, it will have to be a double tap. This chews through a magazine load quickly. So using the magazine extender option is a good idea, though you will be trading off the magnum load option. You may want to experiment with the two options to find which setup works best for you. The accuracy is down rated in the semi-autos for what reason I cannot fathom. However, it is so slight a difference as to be of no consequence. I must confess, the NS 2000 is my favorite shotgun in BC2. The idea of a ...
