Old Games, New Games

+ It has been near 3 years since my last post here. Still playing Delta Force Black Hawk Down (DFBHD). Still the best First Person Shooter (FPS) game in the modern battlefield arena. A ton of screen shots are available at the link: l3ushwacker's Screen Shot Page

+ Far Cry 2 is one of the best single player games I have ever played. However, the multi-player game was over run with players who had no concept of team work. This is too bad because it had the potential to be a great platform with the spectacular open world design and support for user made maps, similar to the Delta Force series.

+ Just begun to play the Battlefield Bad Company 2 game. It purports to be open world but in reality it is a closely bounded map that inhibits the ability to flank the opponent. The thing that burns me the most is that the game gives uneven armor and weapon capabilities to players based on the amount of play. This will serve to limit the number of new players coming in and causes an uneven playing field. DFBHD is old but a much better game.

Shadow Warrior 2 Takes Me Back 1992 - Wolfenstein 3D, first 'almost' 3D game environment. 1993 - DOOM takes PC gamers by storm! 1996 - Quake takes multiplayer seriously as a main game mode in the 3D First Person Shooter (FPS) game. 1997 - The original Shadow Warrior comes out.  I remember them all. Tier 39-Unidad Level 4-Wildlands Battle Royale

A  Free-Play  Fur-Ball! Mass charges of over a dozen Unidad troops at a time. Little Bird gun ships,  Blackhawk Gatling gun and rocket pod choppers. Cobra attack helicopters shot down so close they crush an allied rebel and nearly pin me to the tower with the nose.    What started out as an aerial raid on Koani Airfield quickly became a Tier 39, Unidad patrol level 4 - fur ball. A Gatling gun equipped Blackhawk helicopter flies down the throat of Koani Airfield's three SAM sites and runway. Flying low to avoid a SAM launch, and raking the airfield with Gatling gun fire. Forcing Santa Blanca to responds with two armed Blackhawks. A ground infiltration follows, initiated by two ~400m shots. One a head shot. A brutal take  down on a guard gets me in.
